There have been many notable residents including two former Prime Ministers - Harold Wilson and Clement Attlee. Actor Geofrey Palmer currently lives here with his wife, as does model-turned TV Chef, Sophie Dahl and her musician husband, Jamie Cullum.
Robert Louis Stevenson author of Treasure Island and (Sophie Dahl’s famous grandfather) the author and world war two spy, Roald Dahl wrote many well-known children’s stories here. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG and Matilda are set in Great Missenden. Although children are not allowed at your party, perhaps another adult could accompany them on a visit to the museum dedicated to this wonderful author.
