Valentine’s Day – Is It Really A Romantic Affair?
Does the phrase fill you with dread or love? Do you believe it's just a commercial con, or something more significant?
Spirit often guides new clients to me who have already had fairy-tale readings that haven't come true, and now they are seeking the truth.
Honest readings can sometimes be tough to hear but can also provide clarity to help you in your life choices. Many of my reviews will state things like “she’s brutally honest” and “Charlie doesn’t sugar-coat” – comments which I wear as a badge of honour. The only way to get to the heart of the matter is to be realistic and down to earth. Valentines day can bring a lot of expectation. Some in long-term relationships hope for a renewed sense of reassurance or even spark and just because you started off with a good connection doesn’t mean this is your soul-mate or twin flame! Singles can eagerly look forward to dates or even come to me to see if there is a potential date, and those that are deeply in love can dream of a proposal...
Expectation can set us up for a fall. After all the history of the day itself is far from positive and rather tragic. One of the origins of Valentine’s day is said to go back to the Roman period, during the third century AD. Emperor Claudius II thought married men made bad soldiers and so banned marriage. A priest called Valentine thought this wasn't spiritual and so arranged marriages for lovers in secret. When Claudius found out, Valentine was thrown in prison and sentenced to death.Whilst in prison Valentine fell in love with the jailer's daughter. On the date he went to his death, she received a letter signed "from your Valentine" – this of course was February the 14th.
By the way, did you know Saint Valentine is not just the patron saint engaged couples and happy marriages but also of beekeepers and epilepsy?!When I found that out I was thrilled as I myself have epilepsy which is also linked to a heart condition - so as you can imagine with those random synchronicities, this would be the saint of my choice! There has been more than one St Valentine apparently (and including a Pope) but sadly all the later stories connected to the Christian church end with someone being killed.
One thing I do want to warn you about is being exploited when you feel vulnerable. Especially around Valentine's Day, be discerning when sourcing love readings by entertainment psychics.
There are a lot of people online who will try to take advantage. Many psychic chat lines employ pro copy-writers who seek to tap into your desires, with scant regard for your mental or pocket status. Once these companies get their hooks into you, they can send emails, texts and even letters, I know because I experienced this myself first hand and quite honestly, I was a bit shocked at their lack of both integrity and discretion.
When you read my disclaimer at the time of booking, you will see that its important to me that you aren’t feeling desperate or that you are parting with money that you cannot afford.
